YAK YAK YAK  Why anyone would want to read this is beyond me.

July 18, 2017--- During the past nine months I have made upgrades to my audio system. I replaced the AQ King Cobra interconnects with AQ Columbia. A noticable better difference. Tung-Sol tubes are now in the amp and I like their musicallity. Also, AQ Gibraltar bi-wire speaker cable replaced the Kimber 8TC. They have better definition, but are a little laid back. My system now sounds better than I've ever had. I suppose replacing the amp may be the next step up. Anyway, I'm basically happy with the changes and plan to enjoy what I've got for a while. Roll Tide!

 New Floors
 Having new flooring installed today. Laminate in the kitchen and entrance, and carpet in the living room and hallway. The XYL is happy. Me too, until the bill arrives. The TS-520 is really working well now. The driver tube (12BY7A) went out, but I had a spare. A little TLC goes a long way.

 Auburn Rankes #1
With all the number 1's losing each week, the Auburn Tigers now hold that spot. This could get very interesting if neither they or the Tide lose before the Iron Bowl. The new antenna is working very well. It is up on a Rohn 35 foot telescoping mast.

 Radio Repair
The T/R relay on the Kenwood TS-520 was acting up. It wouldn't close back on receive after transmit. I took it out and cleaned it with Deoxit and contact cleaning paper. Works like new. Yea!!

 New Vertical Antenna
Put up a new 10 meter vertical over the weekend. It is a Cushcraft AR-10. Got the SWR to 1.4 on the first try. It seems to work well. The old Avanti Sigma was bent from the wind and was rusting. The SWR had climbed to over 3. Technically, the Avanti is a better antenna, 5/8 vs 1/2, but I really don't care. It's still just 10 meters, so it doesn't really matter to me.
