YAK YAK YAK  Why anyone would want to read this is beyond me.

July 18, 2017--- During the past nine months I have made upgrades to my audio system. I replaced the AQ King Cobra interconnects with AQ Columbia. A noticable better difference. Tung-Sol tubes are now in the amp and I like their musicallity. Also, AQ Gibraltar bi-wire speaker cable replaced the Kimber 8TC. They have better definition, but are a little laid back. My system now sounds better than I've ever had. I suppose replacing the amp may be the next step up. Anyway, I'm basically happy with the changes and plan to enjoy what I've got for a while. Roll Tide!

It's been awhile.
Wow, does time fly. It's been an exceptionally long and cold winter. Spring is right around the corner, but it did snow 2 inches two days ago. The KT-77 tubes have not broken-in yet, can't hardly wait till they do. I made contact two weeks ago with a friend I knew when I was much younger. He still lives in Georgia and was getting his 3rd divorce! We talked for an hour on the phone. It's a small world with all this network stuff. The XYL has been in Colorado for the weekend so it was me and the animals. I'm teaching four classes this quarter. Three basic and one advanced. I guess I should know it by now, but I'm always amazed by how little many people know about computers. Of course I know very little about a lot of things, so what the hey. My 16 year-old Pyramid 35A  power supply went out on me. I took out the 2N3771 power transistors and tested them with the meter. Two had a base-collector short. I ordered four new ones for about 10 bucks, put them in and it's working again. Gave the old Heathkit SB-221 a workout last night. The Ts-520 was putting out 140W on 40M and was driving the 221 to 1500W. I got a little concerned for my antenna balun so I cut it back. Still, it was nice to know that the 3-500Z tubes are still kicking it out. The 6146B's weren't doing too badly either. Oh well, another day in the boring life of a Ham Radio operator.
